The Philippine Identification System, or PhilSys, is the national ID program of the Philippines established under Republic Act 11055, signed into law in 2018. It is managed by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and issues a single government-issued ID — the PhilSys Card, commonly called the PhilID — to every Filipino citizen and resident alien in the country. As of 2026, over 80 million Filipinos have registered for the National ID. But registration is only the beginning.
